Who we are
The Maria-Nina Foundation is a registered charity founded in 2009, operating in West Africa and in the United Kingdom, and now collaborating with charities in the United States of America and Canada.
For 16 years, we have been dedicated to multiple aspects of community development and health. We have created, supported and contributed to the building of sustainable communities through poverty alleviation and community development programs.
We are also committed to a number of other causes integral to our core objectives; these include health care and health promotion, education, youth mentorship, capacity building, and women empowerment. Our work is designed to help underserved communities and individuals achieve a better quality of life, in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Our head office is in the United Kingdom.

Together we can make a greater impact!
We envision a world where equality and equity in every aspect of life are the norms, especially for people living in low and middle-income countries. We recognize that a good start in life is invaluable to a fair chance for people to thrive beyond basic survival, to compete in life and to eventually contribute to society.
Therefore, public health is at the core of our functions; we aim to promote health and prevent disease by educating and bringing health services closer to the people and to address the specific social determinants of health in the communities we serve.
We believe in the Japanese way of life philosophy “Kaizen” and extrapolate it to the work we do, so that we assist communities to improve their health and living conditions incrementally, one person at a time and aspire to influence others to do the same.
